CHINO just so happened to be testing their new menu at Sunday’s Grocery with Taco Tuesdays. I hit up a couple Taco Tuesdays and the menu consisted of the usual suspects including chips, salsa, guacamole, elotes, tortilla soup, tacos and tostadas. The chips served with roasted tomato salsa and guacamole is effing crack. Fried corn tortillas as chips. Tacos are on point, especially the chicken tinga and pork neck tacos. That chicken and egg tostada doe. The bad news is Taco Tuesdays ended about two weeks ago. Good news is, CHINO will be opened soon!
Elote made of grilled sweet corn lathered with spicy chipotle kewpie and crumbled Cotija cheese.
Tortilla Soup consisting of a chicken chipotle soup, shredded chicken, hominy, sliced red onions and cilantro.
Chicken Tinga Tacos with Pickled Onions and Avocado. The chicken tinga is made using chicken thigh and leg marinated in blended chipotle, red tomatoes and white onions.
That Chicken & Egg Tostada CRAY !!! Consisting of chicken tinga, freshly guacamole, topped with a fried egg all on top of a fried corn tortilla.
Pork Neck Tacos! The pork neck is first brined then then coated in an achiote paste, lime, orange and lemon juice marinade served with sweet roasted pineapple on a warm corn tortilla.
